    Start by sketching the family tree on a large poster board. Ask family members to contribute information such as names, dates, relationships, professions, etc.

    Ask everyone pick a family member’s name out of a bag and to spend 15 minutes getting to know them. Provide questions to ask to get the discussion going.
  3. Old Family Photos
    A Family Reunion is the perfect time to identify the people in old family photos! Display photos on a screen for everyone to see and record the information and stories shared.
  4. Discover Family History
    Ask older family members to share memories of the family history. Encourage younger generation to ask questions.
  5. Family Heritage
    Locate the family’s ancestral home/s on a map and discuss when, why and how family members left (and/or why some remained.
  6. Family Recipe Book
    Ask family members to bring their favorite family recipes. Encourage them to share the stories behind each dish. Create a family cookbook that includes the recipes along with anecdotes and photos.
