Travel back in time with footage of Chicago in the 1940s (courtesy of Fading Dyes). Produced by the Chicago Board of Education, this movie introduced students across the U.S. to the city of Chicago and offers a glimpse into everyday life in the 1940’s.
The movie runs 30 minutes long and covers a large area of Chicago, from Wrigley field to the steel mills, from the infamous Union Stockyards to the beaches along the lakefront.

Thank you it was lovely and fascinating to see where my great granny and her new family lived. She moved their with her youngest daughter and left the older daughter back in Ireland to start a new life with her new husband Robert Anderson
